Puddicombe Golf is a family owned and operated business
based in Nisku, Alberta that specializes in the design and construction of
golf courses. Since its establishment in 1981, Puddicombe Golf has worked on close
to One Hundred golf course projects in Canada, U.S.A., New Zealand and
Japan. Their projects have included new golf course development as well
as the redevelopment of existing courses. They have experienced the most
diverse of climatic and site conditions and are able to adapt to any
challenge that Mother Nature may send their way.
In addition to golf course design and construction, Puddicombe Golf recently entered the role of golf course owner. The Puddicombe
Golf
team recently spearheaded a new development in the Edmonton area known as
the RedTail Landing Golf Club. They not only designed and constructed this
golf course but are also a major investor and control the operations at
the course. This experience makes it possible for the Puddicombe
Golf team to
forecast and understand the vast needs of all of their clients
requirements from start to finish and allows them to pass on first hand
knowledge.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Puddicombe Golf's philosophy is to create an interesting test of
golf where players will remember each and every hole, use every club in
their bag and willingly return to play the next day. The key is to work
with the land in order to make the course "player friendly" and ensure all
hazards are visible. It is important to create a smooth flow of play and
not discourage the recreational players with unreasonable tests. Par
should be earned and bogey should be easy to achieve.
Areas of Expertise
Puddicombe Golf is very unique in that they have a great deal of
experience not only with the redesign or remodeling of existing courses
but have extensive construction experience with regard to existing
courses. In fact, the forte at Puddicombe Golf has been the
renovation of existing courses.
They have established numerous long-term relationships with many golf
courses in the capacity as the designer/builder. They have also developed
strong relationships with other golf course architects where they act as
the construction contractor. Either way, the company has the experience to
perform design and or construction at the highest standards in the
industry.
